Registration Information

FAQs

Registration for our league is online and you can pay by e transfer, cash, or cheque. We have an early registration in March and will resume again August 1, 2023 for the 2023-2024 Season.
If there is still room for your child to play, you will be charged a late registration fee of $25 per child.
Blyth Junior Broomball has a basic registration fee for all teams from PeeWee, Bantam and Midgets. This fee includes entry to the Mildmay tournament in January and for the provincial team fee in February. The hotel accommodations for the Provincials is not included in this fee. The registration fee can be given in 2 payments with 1/2 being owed at registration and the other 1/2 in the form of cash, a post dated cheque or e-transfer due December 1st. If your child participates in the Co-ed tournaments in Palmerston, this will be an extra fee which is payable to the person who is entering the team.

Blyth Junior Broomball wants to see every child play, we have teamed up with the YMCA to make this possible. Please contact the info below for any questions.

Blyth Junior Broomball does not book blocks of rooms for the provincials.  Blyth Junior Broomball does not provide chaperones for your child.   All parents will be responsible for looking after their own children, unless of course you've worked this out on your own with some one.  We understand that it is fun to be in the same hotel as your friends and team mates. The coaches might also want to keep the team together especially for the younger teams and might want to talk to parents prior to booking the hotels. Where ever you choose to stay is 100%  your decision.

You may book your rooms by calling the hotel directly or on-line, be aware that prices do vary, depending on how you book your room. Also be sure to check out the cancelation policy wherever you decide to book. Be aware that many other leagues will be finding a room to stay for the weekend and other sports have tournaments as well. Blyth Broomball has no way of knowing how fast the hotels will be booked, so we suggest that this happens in a timely fashion, so you do not have problems getting a room.

  • Here are a few tips for those new to broomball and even those that are familiar with this tournament.

    1. Make sure your room is booked.  These hotels book up very, very quickly.
    2. Check your child's equipment over and that it meets standard.  Especially the helmet.  If your helmet is missing any parts, your child will not be allowed on the ice.  Personally, I have gone to Stainton's Home Hardware for my equipment and they have always been very helpful when I bring my helmets in to tighten all the screws and replace missing ones.
    3. Print the correct schedule.  The schedules can change and though we try to communicate the best we can, it is up to you to check the links provided and ensure no changes have occurred.
    4. Notify your coaches if you cannot attend this tournament.  Our coaches are all volunteer and spend their time working out line ups, etc.  Please respect their time and themselves.
    5. Arrive an hour before your first game to get your child registered.  If they are not registered, they cannot play.  They only need to register once for the whole tournament.  They need to register at the arena where they are playing their first game.
    6. Play safe and with respect.  You are representing our community.  Cheer your fellow players on with positive comments.  And most of all, good luck and have fun!
  • The broomball banquet is held every year after the provincials. Every family attending is asked to bring a large dish of either a salad, main course or dessert along with plates and utensils. We get 200 + people attending and it is a great time to eat and chat. Awards are given to players on each team, usually most improved and most dedicated.
